This summer has been a lot of fun so far. I hung out with a lot of different people and I'm usually busy, which is a good thing.

Yesterday I hung out with Billy, and we were talking about how much we dislike rap. He gave a really good explanation too. Music is made up of three components: Rhythm, Harmony, and Melody. Rap stands for rhythm and poetry. Since rap only has 1/3 of the components of music, it's not real music, therefore it's not really worth listening to.

Summer Jazz Band is pretty bad. No one can play the right rhythms. Today I had to sit next to the barri sax player that everyone hates. He played all of the wrong notes and rhythms and acted like he was the best person on earth. I really dislike people like that.

My swim meet is on the 28th at Brighton pool at 6pm. I'm swimming the 50 free and 100 back. I'm going to end up dead at the end of the meet because I'm not ready for the 100 back. It wasn't even worth trying at our time trials at Lincoln because there weren't any starting blocks, lane lines, or flags. I ended up cutting my hand on the side of the pool. Lincoln really needs to invest in some starting blocks and flags.

Mr. Aguglia called my mom the other day about my music and what I'm going to do with my life. I thought about this. There really isn't a lot of money in music. I like to do treasury work because I'm the treasurer of my class and the treasurer for band. I was thinking about becoming an accountant because much more money is made that way rather than by becoming a musician. Music is a big part in my life and I will most likely become part of the music program in college, but not major in it. Who really knows yet, I'm only going to be a sophomore.
